Mobility Workshop Review
Last Sunday was the first mobility workshop at Crossfit Sacrifice. We had a good group show up with lots of questions and a great willingness to endure the pain of the different mobilizations.
The great thing about Crossfit is that it lets you know your issues whether you want to or not. Having trouble with overhead squats, than look at your shoulder mobility. Having trouble with your pistols look at your ankle mobility and your hips.
We had a great mix of Crossfitters and runners and I hope we addressed all of the big problems.
The goal of this workshop was less “give a man a fish” and more “teach a man to fish”.
We covered different strategies like mashing, tack and stretch, PNF stretching, distraction, and corrective exercises.
So far I’ve mostly received positive feedback, including this comment:

Thanks for a great Mobiliy Workshop. I took away some much needed advice on how to “fix this” or “why does that hurt so much”. I’ve been implementing the techniques I learned and I feel better.
Awesome job Matt!
This workshop was really good – informative with some humor thrown in and a lot of useful take-aways. For one, I’ve spent the past week trying to make sure both of my feet are pointed straight ahead. Not easy after many years of ballet, but it’s making a difference. You’re a great instructor who has clearly spent a great deal of time researching and practicing what you teach. Thanks for a morning well-spent!
