Sirloin and Caramelized Onions

Sirloin and Caramelized Onions

One of the major criticisms of Paleo that a lot of people have is that it is too time consuming. While this cannot win a race against anything with the word “instant” in its product name, it is literally a five minute meal. By meal, I mean meal. Like full grown man is full and fully nourished at the end of it.

I did nothing to the steak. Mostly because I haven’t had a perfectly grass-fed Sirloin from US Wellness Meats in a while and I did not want to over power it. Also, I love steak and the way steak tastes. If I want to taste some meat make-up I’ll eat a crappy cut of meat. This is religious experience level of meat, so I want to taste that meat.

I started this process with the onion. I put 1 tablespoon of Red Palm Oil into a large pan and turned the heat on high.

I cut the onion in half and that cut the halves lengthwise to make that half-a-pinkie sized bites of onion. I immediately thew them in the pan and tried to stir as little as possible so they would get nice and caramelized.

I put the steak on my Le Cruset griddle and cooked it for two minutes on the first side and ninety seconds after turning it. I than let it sit for two minutes. The onions took about four minutes to cook.

After that it was plating and eating.

So simple its almost dumb to post about it.
